Notes to the analysis
- The population is made up of either current or historic employers who:
- advised in their initial declaration of compliance that they have automatically enrolled staff into a Master Trust.
- have advised in their most recent re-declaration of compliance that they have re-enrolled staff into a pension scheme.
- We have not been able to define and categorise 'any other approved scheme', so the figures relate to those employers who initially used a Master Trust only.
- For data quality purposes, the above population excludes the following conditions:
- Employers that did not have to re-enrol staff into a pension scheme at their most recent re-declaration of compliance.
- Employers that declared more than one pension scheme at initial declaration.
- Employers whose most recent re-declaration is less than three years from a (late) initial declaration.
- The sub-population is made up of those that changed to a different scheme (whether Master trust or not) at their most recent re-declaration of compliance.
- Data has been provided from 2019 to 2024 in order to provide a consistent five-year time series; volumes prior to this period are minimal.
- The latest re-declaration year 2024 to 2025 is year-to-date.
