Step 3. Write to your staff

You must do this within 6 weeks after your duties start date.

Within 6 weeks after your duties start date, it is your legal duty to write to all your staff individually to explain how automatic enrolment applies to them.

Whilst your pension provider may be willing to do this on your behalf, you can also amend our example letter templates below:

Staff who must be put into a pension scheme

You must also include the insert when you send letters to staff who must be put into a pension scheme.

Only use this template if the staff member you have enrolled does not receive tax relief on their contributions because your pension schemes uses a net pay arrangement.
